Garrison

A garrison is generally defined as "a fortified place where troops are stationed." Garrison is used to translate two Hebrew words of the Old Testament (see Old Testament Fact File), pronounced nets-eeb, meaning something stationary, and mats-ts-awb, meaning a fixed location - both words were used to designate a military post during early Bible History.
