Anthrax and Smallpox
God used biological warfare on Pharoah's kingdom, while, amidst it all, the Israelites and their livestock, one way or another, were immunized. The two examples below are believed by some scientists to have been anthrax in Exodus 9:2-6, and smallpox and/or cowpox in Exodus 9:10-11. Note where Moses used ashes as a "fine powder" to distribute it.
"And The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "Take handfuls of ashes from the kiln, and let Moses throw them toward heaven in the sight of Pharaoh [see Who Was The Exodus Pharaoh?]. And it shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and become boils breaking out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt." So they took ashes from the kiln, and stood before Pharaoh, and Moses threw them toward heaven, and it became boils breaking out in sores on man and beast. And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians." (Exodus 9:10-11 RSV)
Bubonic Plague
When the Philistines of Ashdod captured the Ark of The Covenant, God inflicted them with bubonic plague - a disease that is often spread by fleas on rats and mice. Infected humans develop enlarged lymph nodes in the armpits and groin, called "buboes," which many Bible versions translate as "tumors":
