Divided Christianity
Of all of the world's religions, Christianity seems to be the most divided. People tend to follow human leaders, which is not un-Biblical (e.g. 1 Corinthians 12:27-30), but so often, for so many, "Christianity" becomes more about obeying their human leader, no matter what he or she says, than obeying their Savior, and revering their leader's teachings, even if they disagree with what's plainly written in The Holy Bible.
Despite claims that many religious leaders have made for themselves, or that their followers have made for them, no human is infallible. The writers of the Bible itself were not infallible, as they themselves had the honesty to admit (see Paul's Mirror), so who could rightfully claim perfection now? And what human has the right to claim superior authority over The Bible?
Prove All Things
A guiding principle that every Christian leader should live by, and which every Christian should demand of their leaders, is "Follow me, as, and only if, I follow Christ." "Proving all things," for yourself, in the Word of God, is a very serious matter - no human leader can get salvation for you, but every human leader is capable of contributing to your losing it.
"Not every one who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. On that day many will say to Me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and do many mighty works in Your Name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you evildoers.'" (Matthew 7:21-23 RSV) (see Siren Song)
